According to the news of Chinese ministry of foreign affairs, President Xi Jinping has accepted Mongolia Present Tsakhia Elbegdorj’s invitation, to Mongolia for a state visit on August 21 to 22, 2014. It is the first time since Xi Jinping became President in 2013.Last time the Chinese head of state visited to Mongolia in 2003.

It is not only the usual courtesy visit after ten years to visit Mongolia again, but also for the purpose of strengthening energy cooperation and improving the layout of China's energy strategy obviously.

In 2013, China and Mongolia bilateral trade volume has reached nearly $6 billion, which has increased by 15 times more than 10 years ago, it is positive to see that the promising prospects of bilateral cooperation.

It is reported that during the visit period, the three parties China Mongolia and Russia sign a series of gas project, pipeline construction contract and supply agreement, which will help China expand energy supplies. The gas cooperation of China and Mongolia will do good to provide a stable source gas, promoting the use of natural gas, pipe-line design and construction and pipe-line equipment. It is expected that this deal will be completed and put into production around 2020, 90% of the production will go through the pipe-line to China.
